NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED

A few weeks ago a friends xbox 360 died with 3 red lights and after my help she got the information to get it sorted and she was more than happy.

Well a good deed done and a nice feel good factor knowing you made somebody happy by taking the stress out of a situation... BUT!!! Then what happens? MY xbox 360 got 3 red lights as well... Noooooooo!

3 red

This is my 4th 360 and at least it lasted 1 and a half years before it's kicked the bucket.

My 1st 360 from Argos died after about 6 months (3 red lights). After an in store battle with Argos staff I got another 360 from them, then after 4 months I got E71 Error then 3 red lights. After a bigger in store battle with Argos staff I got ANOTHER new 360.

Now this was before Microsoft admitted there was a problem and gave the 3 years thing for 3 red lights.

I could not be bothered fighting with Argos again so I sold the 3rd brand new xbox 360 I got from them and took my cash to another shop and bought my 4th 360.

So now this 360 is dead with 3 red lights and at the time of posting It's just landed in the laps of Microsoft in Frankfurt (at least that's what UPS tracking says).

So this will be Xbox 360 6 when it comes back, YES you read that correct #6 because we also have a new 60 gig version of the console that runs much much cooler and even the power pack has holes in the side of it now, so I hope that one can last at tombleast 3 years... Ok... Probably not!

R.I.P 360 #4

6 MONTHS AND COUNTING

smo1 WOW! That's 6 months since my mum stopped smoking and she is still going strong. She's had a lot of hard times over the months since she stopped and a lesser willed person would have gave in and started again by now.

Way to go mum, you rock!!!

THE END OF THE WORLD IS SO NIGH

The world could end in a few days (September 10 to be exact) as scientists try to reveal what happened when the universe came into existence 14 billion years ago.

When they flick the switch they could create a black hole and wipe out the planet2-end-world-nigh

Then you have a new cold war about to happen so we'll be back on the brink of being nuked again! And off course the planet is trying to screw with us by seeing how we'll cope with things dubbed 'the mother of all storms'

On the bright side there's a great new Xbox 360 game coming from Bethesda Softworks who brought us the amazing Olblivion. What is it all about? Well a post apocalyptic world off course set after WW3 and it's called FALLOUT 3100x100falloutav-tu

WEST LOTHIAN: A MOST HAPPY PLACE

This news is about a week old but since I'm only now getting around to doing some updates I thought I would post about this anyway.

It seems I live in the happiest place in Scotland. Read the story below

West Lothian has been rated as the happiest place in Scotland.

Researchers ranked the area third highest in a list of 273 areas throughout Britain.

The academic poll also found Edinburgh to be the most miserable place to live in the UK - despite its beautiful scenery and many culture attractions.

"This is further confirmation that West Lothian is a great place to live, work and visit," said Peter Johnston, West Lothian Council leader.

He added: "It is the latest in a series of top accolades for West Lothian.

"West Lothian offers an excellent quality of life which has been recognised with its new ranking as Scotland's happiest place, which we obviously warmly welcome."

I find this surprising as Edinburgh is a great place to live, work, invest and visit

Jenny Dawe
Edinburgh City Council leader

Martyn Day, West Lothian Council's development and transport leader, said: "This is really great news for West Lothian. It is always nice to receive national recognition of this type.

"I hope it will encourage even more people to come and visit West Lothian, where we can guarantee a happy, smiling welcome."

A team from the Universities of Sheffield and Manchester used data from the British Household Panel Survey, where people were asked about their sense of wellbeing, to draw up a map of happiness for England, Scotland and Wales.

Stunning architecture

After adding in factors such as employment, health and educational qualifications, they found that Powys in Wales was the happiest place. Manchester came second, followed by West Lothian.

Edinburgh finished bottom of the list of 273 areas covered by the happiest places survey.

Edinburgh City Council leader Jenny Dawe, said: "I find this surprising as Edinburgh is a great place to live, work, invest and visit.

"Last year it was voted as the best place to live in the UK by Channel 4's flagship property programme Location, Location, Location.

"The city truly has the best of everything; stunning architecture, abundant green space and outstanding schools and universities."

The research was presented at the annual conference of the Royal Geographic Society and the Institute of British Geographers.
